My name is Caroline Johnson, I am 26 years old and from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a child I was surrounded by creativity. My Mom and Grandma owned a Christmas Tree business, so from a young age I was using my hands to create. I have always been intrigued by the intricate details of life. When I was six I was diagnosed with a learning disability and this created a lot of obstacles but I found that art was something that allowed me to overcome my disability. I grew up in a house where I was always told you could do anything you want when you put forth the extra effort and my artistic ability allowed me to escape the label of having a learning disability because I was able to succeed in art class by creating inspirational artwork. In high school I was able to take all the art classes offered and this helped me to find and cultivate my love of designing jewelry. When deciding on a college I knew that The Savannah College of Art and Design was the perfect place for me to study design. Living in Savannah helped me to find myself as an artist because of the community and beauty of the historic city.
